There are two legendary football players in this video. Granted one is a legendary football player and one is a legend who was also once a football player. Given that these two legends seem to be friends though, I want to take a moment to imagine how great it would be if they teamed up, and by teamed up I mean if the Rock became Tom Brady’s hype man.

It’s no secret that there isn’t anyone on the Patriots that can really hype up a game. Which is fine, they have enough pure raw talent that they manufacture hype. But if Tom Brady got his boy the Rock to come in on media days and sit next to him during press conferences, imagine the hype you could get from that. The Rock is the best entertainer in the world. Tom Brady is the best football player in the world. If the Rock started speaking for Brady at all the press conferences it would be some of the best trash talking ever, then Brady would go out on the field and back it all up. The Rock could be the Paul Hayman to Tom Brady’s Brock Lesnar. The Paul Berra to the Undertaker.

I’m not saying that hype men are the solution to the NFL’s rating problem, but Vince McMahon isn’t a billionaire for being stupid. In the WWE, if someone isn’t good on the mic and people don’t care about their matches, Vince hooks them up with a hype man. Maybe Rodger Goodell should consider sitting down with someone who knows what they’re doing instead of persecuting the only consistently good franchise in the league.

On a side note:

  • I agree with the Rock that Tom’s video was really shitty (further evidence he needs a hype man).
  • The Rock joining team nude sleeper is a huge win for them. (Could pres get any more validation than the Rock joining him?)
