It’s late Thursday night. On any other given week this is the time that I would be using to study up on the week’s movies for the Weekend Movie Watchlist. Not this week though. Hollywood has failed me this week. There are no new movies coming out. Nothing to mix up last week’s WMW.
Just because Hollywood gave up on this year does not mean that I will. So rather than study the movies that are in theaters this weekend I’m reviewing all the movies that came out in 2016. That’s right. Come tomorrow we will be looking at the first ever Weekend Movie Watchlist: 2016 Watchlist. It’s going to be the same WMW that you all know and love, but now every movie that was released in 2016 will be competing for awards. It’s a chance for the movies that came out before the Internet’s most prestigious weekly movie blog was created, to win the awards they never knew they needed.
So for those of you saying, “There are no new movies coming out this week, I can just skip reading the Internet’s most prestigious weekly movie blog.” You are dead fucking wrong. This is going to be the most important WMW of them all. The stakes are set high, so get fucking hyped.
I’ve also got a couple of other big projects in the works, so if you notice a dip in the amount of blogs (you won’t because I’m something of a blogging animal) just know I’ve got some big belated Christmas presents coming your way.
Consider yourself updated.
