I am soooo pumped to see this movie. I honestly have been since the teaser trailer came out a few months ago and that just showed a bunch of soldiers ducking down in a boat. That shit still gave me chills though. I’m a decently big World War II guy. I don’t know all the stories but I definitely know about the battle of Dunkirk. The battle that saved Europe. If you don’t remember high school history, Dunkirk was a town in France where the British troops had to flee across the English Channel from, to escape the Nazis who had taken control of France. The British didn’t have any ships left though so they had thousands of British troops sailing home on dozens of fishing boats that they took from the villagers. These boats made a bunch of trips across the channel so they could get all these troops off the mainland and each time they went back the risk became greater and greater. If they hadn’t pulled it off a majority of the British army would have been wiped out and the war in Europe would have been a whole different story. So it’s great that they are making a movie on it.

There are so many stories about WWII that still need to be told and I hope that this movie is the start of a resurgence of quality WWII movies. No disrespect to movies like Fury and Monuments Men but movies like Fury and Monuments Men kind of suck. Like in terms of WWII movies they don’t touch the greats. Hopefully this one will be an improvement from what we have become used to.

There’ve been some HUGE trailers coming out this week between Spiderman and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but Dunkirk is absolutely the star of the trailer week.

P.S. I assume we are on the same page that Fate of the Furious can’t be included in this list because that is the obvious winner of everything ever.
