I love every one of these videos. I could get rid of Netflix and just watch videos of troops coming home and surprising their families and I would probably be a happier person because of it. Every single one of these videos is guaranteed to make you feel good when you watch it.

I love this video so much that it is actually changing my opinion on Jimmy Fallon again. When Jimmy first started hosting the Tonight Show I was all about it. I was up every night watching the monologue and loving the games he was playing with celebrities. But during the election season I really lost a lot of respect for him because, while other hosts like Colbert and Seth Myers were going deep into some of the issues and trying to create an informed audience, Jimmy was still playing flip cup every night and only brushing on the fun parts of the election while avoiding the real issues, like old people avoid John Oliver. I get that he’s not supposed to be a news anchor but he asked nothing from his audience during the most important election of the 21st century and so his show remained mindless entertainment that aimed for cheap laughs. I actually unsubscribed from his YouTube channel (the biggest slight I am capable of). However, now that the election is over I care so much less about being an informed viewer and I am starting to miss the mindless entertainment of Jimmy Fallon. So I am slowly completing my 360 degree journey back to the King of Late Night.

I’m glad that these two did this for the soldier and his wife. The troops still fighting our country’s battles are too often forgotten about around the holidays (and in general). So while we all prepare to celebrate with our families it’s important to remember those who can’t be with their families this year. Sometimes it takes two huge celebrities to remind us to thank those responsible for what we have.

P.S. Say what you will about Jimmy being fake and all but you can’t say that he is faking those tears (especially if you’ve ever seen his acting). No chance he is faking those.

P.P.S. Fallon being Fallon is still as Fallon as ever…
