WCVB- High school students in Boston are planning a mass walkout from their classes on Monday to protest President-elect Donald Trump.

The Boston Public Schools administration has sent an automated phone message to parents discouraging their kids from cutting school and missing class time.

The district’s message said it believes in student voice and advocacy but warns that kids will be marked absent for missed classes.

A flier for the protest event circulated on social media advising students to walk out of class at 1 p.m. Monday, then meet at the Boston Common and march on the Massachusetts State House and Boston City Hall.

Student organizers are calling on Republican Gov. Charlie Baker and Boston’s Democratic Mayor Marty Walsh to stand up to Trump and protect immigrants, Muslims and other groups.

Yeah. I am sure that these high school students are all going to leave class because they are upset with the election of Donald Trump almost a month after America went to the polls. Let me tell you, that bull shit may have tricked the administration but you aren’t sliding that by me. I too was once a high school student with absolutely no desire to be in school on cold snowy days or any days in general.

What really happened here was there were two or three really smart and really concerned teenagers who couldn’t make it to the polls because of the whole, be 18 to vote policy and they decided that this would be a great idea to show their discontent with the policies of the president elect. So they made virtual fliers and announced their plan on social media and the rest of the school latched on. To be 100% clear, every one of the students that is participating in this thing is not doing so to show their own discontent, they are doing it to fucking get out of school for a day.  That’s it. The whole platform of this protest in reality is “leave school two hours early”. No one besides the organizers care at all about the election. What are the odds that this meeting at the Boston Common is going to be these three kids meeting up and marching with signs while everyone else fucks off and goes home? Because whatever they are I’ll take them.

Stay woke Boston Schools. Your students didn’t all of a sudden develop a burning desire to be involved in the political climate, they just don’t want to sit through another hour of analyzing Jane Eyre in English class
