I love that it’s the former Celtics that are still tearing it up for the Clippers. These are two different stories and they should probably each get their own blog but I don’t have a problem with pairing Doc and Pierce together.

Doc Rivers absolutely losing his mind at this ref is the best thing Doc has done in years. He was going after the refs with the type of aggression you only see in movies. I love Doc doing this because it is very fucking similar to, professional fuck boy and part time basketball player, Dwight Howard getting “held back” by security while going at it with a fan for calling him a bitch the other day. What’s the difference? Dwight is actually a bitch. Doc was going to tear that guys face off while still arguing about the bull shit call. Deandre Jordan and Sam Cassell (another Celtic’s champ, shout out) had to actually restrain Doc from getting himself suspended. That’s what I love about Doc. Has been in the league forever, first playing for one of the best teams in history and then being one of the best coaches in the league today and he can still shock the hell out of me. He’s always had a temper but he reached a new gear in this game. I hate to point out the obvious but if Doc was still coaching the Celtics and did this the city would be having a fucking parade for him.

While Doc was shocking the world, Paul Pierce was kind of making me cry. This clip is hilarious. Like Paul misses the dunk and Chris Paul gets in there and starts giving the old man CPR, classic, definitely going to be on blooper real highlights for the next few years. A part of me kind of died when I saw this clip though. As a Celtics fan I don’t get to see much of Boston’s modern living legend and that is definitely a good thing. The Clippers are kind of like Peirce’s old people’s home, he went there because the Celtics couldn’t look after him anymore and they couldn’t bear to watch his decline as he got old. We can keep all our memories of clutch shots and monster dunks untainted by the bad memories of him missing easy dunks. All I can say is that I can’t wait for the end of the season when The Truth comes back and retires as a Celtic. He is the greatest Celtic of the 21st century (one of the greatest of all time) and deserves all the props he is going to get when he comes back. If its anything like this I will be dead.

Good on the former Celtics though. Showing the league what’s up and representing the place where they made their name (Not really a true statement in the case of Rivers or Cassell)
