BOSTON (CBS) — Al Horford did not play in Monday night’s 112-104 Celtics win in Miami, taking the evening off to be with his wife and new baby daughter.

A small group of “Celtics fans” took issue with that decision on social media. And, of course, it was a hot topic on sports talk radio as well, with some hosts also calling out Boston’s $30 million man. Local sports bloviator Michael Felger was one of them, taking issue with Horford’s decision on CSNNE on Monday night:

“He had the birth of his kid in Atlanta.The game was in Miami. I know when you make $30million a year it ain’t much to get a private jet,” said Felger. “[Celtics owner] Wyc [Grousbeck] would probably pick it up to fly down at 3 o’clock in Atlanta. It’s about a 90-minute flight to Atlanta. Play the game and come right back.”

Felger did add that he’d have no issues with Horford missing the game if there were complications with the birth.

“I like my guys to forsake everything for the team,” said Felger. “It’s a little soft. Just go play the game.”

The Boston big man’s sister was not a fan of the comments, and took to social media to voice her displeasure with Felger in a rather colorful way:

I can’t even describe how much I agree with Felger here. I was saying it when I found out why Horford wasn’t playing yesterday. I want guys who are going to be out there playing no matter what is going on at home. I want that from every guy on the roster and I expect that from the guy that is supposed to be a key part of this team. The Cs just dished out a fuck load of loot for this guy and he is taking a day off? Bull shit.

Felger didn’t even touch on the part that really has me pissed off with Horford. HE JUST MISSED TWO WEEKS! He was out with a concussion and not medically cleared to play, alright I get that. Do I think he dragged his feet getting back on the court? Without a doubt. If you are really determined to get back with your team you lie your ass off to everyone and tell them you feel great. Gronk just played a game with a punctured fucking lung and this guy couldn’t even tell the trainers that he isn’t really that dizzy? But whatever, it’s a concussion, those are a big deal these days, take your time and come back healthy Big Al. He does, he plays a couple really solid games. THEN YOU MISS ANOTHER GAME?! Under normal circumstances I’d probably be okay with him taking a game off to have a kid and be with his family, especially this early in the season and against the Heat. It’s not normal circumstances if you have missed more games than you played though.

If I missed two weeks of work because I was sick I would be out there busting my ass as soon as I could get back, to prove that I was committed to working there. If that’s me getting paid shit money to do shit work I absolutely expect that out of a guy pulling in 30 million to play basketball.

And then his sister went off at Felger because he called her brother out for being a bitch. That’s just laughable. I would bet everything I own in the world that Felger gives zero shits what Anna Horford thinks of him. The bitch(Anna not Al)’s  only claim to fame is being the hot sister of an A- NBA player. Enjoy your 5 seconds in the spotlight Anna (hmu when it’s over). Felger is going to continue the fight on overpaid lazy pussies. Really hope that Horford doesn’t continue to fall in that category.
